Negli ultimi anni la richiesta di barche che utilizzano motorizzazioni fuoribordo è cresciuta enormemente. Nel passato l’utilizzo di questi motori si limitavano a spingere barche con una  lunghezza massima intorno ai 10 metri, adesso questi natanti possono arrivare tranquillamente vicino ai 15 metri.  Anche perché con lo sviluppo della tecnologia i fuoribordo sono sempre più potenti con consumi più contenuti e l’attenzione è massima per renderli sempre più leggeri. La scelta poi del tipo di fuoribordo a diesel o benzina potrebbe dipendere dal tipo d’ imbarcazione che si vuole motorizzare e dalle miglia di navigazione che si vogliono solcare. Let’s just say that the CXO300 engine produced by the English company COX Powertrain founded in 2007, by the motor racing engineer David Cox, is a revolutionary outboard motor and already before being marketed, it was awarded the prize by the ADI (Industrial Design Association) ) among the best design products for the year 2018. Molti modelli di barche ad alte prestazioni devono gran parte del loro attuale successo alla  linea fuoribordo Verado, in particolare ai  potenti e affidabili motori  Mercury Racing 250R ; 300R; 350R;  400R. La novità di quest’ anno è che la Mercury Racing ha realizzato un nuovo fuoribordo il 450R non esclusivamente ma specialmente per le barche ad alte prestazioni con una potenza impressionabile senza precedenti di 450 cv con un’accelerazione pazzesca tra l’altro anche leggerissimo pesa appena 313 kg si presenta in un formato compatto tale da poterlo utilizzarlo e adattarlo ad ogni possibili configurazioni in particolare per le applicazioni multiple.
