Perini Navi returns to the limelight with the new ownership The Italian Sea Group and launches the “Genesis” fleet of large sailing yachts

The Perini Navi shipyard, known for the construction of large sailboats maneuvered by small crews, is making a comeback thanks to the new ownership, the naval group The Italian Sea Group (Tisg) of Marina di Carrara.

The new ownership has confirmed its commitment to build large sailboats, with three new lines of boats of 48, 56 and 77 meters called “Genesis”.

The fleet will be characterized by the combination of iconic and characteristic elements of Perini Navi revisited in a modern key, with large spaces and navigation comfort. The fleet reflects the group’s established reputation for design, quality and innovation.

Currently, the Perini Navi shipyard is engaged in the construction of four new boats, a 47-metre sailing sloop, two 56 and 60-metre sailing ketcks and a 47-metre luxury sailing catamaran.

In this regard Giovanni Costantino, Founder and CEO of The Italian Sea Group commented as follows:

“Perini Navi is an extraordinary brand that has made the history of large sailing ships in the world. More than 60% of sailing ships over 40 meters at sea, which everyone recognizes for their characteristics and unique design, came out of the Perini Navi shipyards We will continue to focus on large sizes, from 50 meters up”. “There will be no temptation to follow the path taken by the Tabacchi family, the last owners of the shipyard, who had added a line of motor boats to sailing. The Italian Sea Group already has two brands for motors Admiral, manufacturer of prestigious superyachts over 50 meters with a classic style and Tecnomar, known for its sportiness, cutting-edge design and high performance yachts up to 45 metres”.

Perini Navi’s “Genesis” fleet confirms its position as global leader in the large sailing yacht market. The project was conceived to create a line of yachts that maintained the iconic and distinctive elements of Perini Navi, but with a modern touch that focused on luminosity, navigation comfort and large spaces.

In this regard, Giovanni Costantino issued the following statement:

“I am very proud of the new Perini Navi fleet and the journey made so far in the last year”. “By transferring the comfort of motor yachts to sailing yachts, we have managed to create a harmonious synergy thanks to our already strong skills expanded with the acquisition of Perini Navi”.

“The nautical world is demonstrating a particular sensitivity towards Perini Navi and our consolidated reputation for design, quality and innovation will contribute to strengthening the expansion and growth strategy of the Group”.

The external lines of Perini Navi’s “Genesis” fleet reflect two essential assumptions: on the one hand, the desire to rework the classic aesthetics of the “Perini Style” in a contemporary key, famous throughout the world for its elegance and sobriety; on the other, the aim of expressing a timeless language projected into the future.

The elegant and clean shapes of the new Perini boats blend harmoniously with elongated and continuous curved lines, while the glass surfaces expand to spread a natural and welcoming light inside.

The stern opens towards the sea, becoming a real leisure area with external decks defined by an organic and flexible layout. Similarly, the main internal spaces also tend to be large and fluid, with different functional areas that communicate with each other in a direct but discreet way, maintaining the necessary functionality together with an open and dynamic spatiality.

A blue leather handrail becomes a new leitmotif for the future Perini Navi world. The new fleet of Perini “Genesis” sailing yachts presented by The Italian Sea Group includes three new types of sailing yachts: a 48-metre sailing yacht, a 56-metre sailing yacht and a 77-metre sailing yacht on where it will be possible to install the iconic and innovative Falcon RIG, designed for the first time by the Italian shipyard for the Maltese Falcon, one of the most beautiful yachts in the world.

The brand new 48-metre sailing yacht   will be offered in two versions: for racing and for cruising. The cruising model is characterized by having an area on the “roof” of the yacht – called the fly bridge – where there is a driving position and a sunbathing area, to ensure maximum comfort.

The regatta model, on the other hand, is defined as “open”, without a flybridge, for sportier performance. The new generation naval architecture will allow even more comfortable navigation, while the open stern, equipped with a transformer, will facilitate access to the sea, offering great comfort especially at anchor. The management of the sailing system will continue to be concentrated in the two command consoles, with a series of joysticks that facilitate safe control without the need for a dedicated crew.

The new 48-metre boat will have new hull lines to offer limited heeling angles, twin rudders and a  retractable keel, and to minimize draft and facilitate access to remote harbors and shallow-water bays. With a view to sustainability , it will also be possible to install solar panels.

The 56-metre , Perini Navi’s most iconic sailing yacht, will be revamped through a collaboration with Malcom McKeon Yacht Design, who will develop the naval platform and sailing system with a strong focus on sailing performance and contribute to the exterior styling.

The new sail plan, with carbon masts, will ensure comfort and sailing performance thanks to the use of the Perini Navi “sail handling system”, with concentrated and power-assisted control of the sailing maneuvers in the two flybridge command posts.

The new 77-metre sailing yacht designed by The Italian Sea Group for the Genesis fleet will be equipped with the Falcon RIG, mounted for the first time on the iconic Maltese Falcon. The RIG  is the  first system in the world, perfected by the engineer and inventor  Fabio Perini, founder of the shipyard, which allows you to  combine the elegance of the square sail with the upwind efficiency of the triangular sail.

The boat will have two masts, which will give great advantages in terms of navigation and safety.

Navigation will be made extremely easy thanks to the electro-hydraulic mast and sail management system. Furthermore, the new yacht will be the first platform to offer a complete spa-beach club with fold-down terraces that can be connected to the aft swim platform.
