Yacht Wallywhy100 comfort, performance and functionality

For years, Wally has been a point of reference for ideas and technology in the construction of excellent sailing boats and engines, and has announced some features on the new Wallywhy100, the smallest model in the wallywhy range, a series of “crossover” yachts with high marine quality and finishes with a bright future ahead of it in the luxury yachting world.

The Wallywhy100 follows the Wallywhy200 currently the flagship of the range launched in 2021 and the Wallywhy150, which will presumably be launched in early 2023.

The external design and naval architecture of all the boats in the range including the new Wallywhy100 were designed by the Wally-Ferretti Engineering team, while the interiors are designed by Studio A. Vallicelli & C, a proven collaborator of the Wally brand.

Wallywhy100, can be defined as a hybrid because it fulfills the functions of traditional displacement shuttles but also of planing boats, rich in contents and technologies, it is a perfect Wally brand that has always offered innovations to the pleasure boating market.

In this regard, Stefano de Vivo, CEO of Wally, released the following statement:

“Wallywhy100 was created to fill a gap in the market. In fact, despite being beautiful and streamlined, traditional coupés do not offer the comfort and livability that today’s owners expect from their boats”.

“On the other hand, larger and bulkier yachts generally do not allow high speeds and flexibility of use. Owners are therefore faced with a difficult choice: do they compromise on comfort or performance?”.

“With the wallywhy line”, he continued, “we have eliminated the problem by exploiting the deep knowledge of the products and the market acquired over the years. Like her predecessors wallywhy200 and wallywhy150, the wallywhy100 will also be a “game changer” capable of conquering many countries, thanks to her market value and her versatility which make her suitable for a very large number of owners. In 20 years, the industry will look to the Wallywhy100 as a yacht that dared to be different”.

Let’s say right away that the peculiarity of the Wallywhy100 design is based on the main deck, which extends from bow to stern on a single level, thus creating a large multipurpose area that can be completely closed or left open in contact with the sea and it can be used to the maximum by guests in any weather.

The boat at the stern ends with a large 14 square meter beach with the classic Wally side walls that move and in a very short time there is a 50% increase in the available space, allowing a 180-degree unobstructed view. In addition, the bathing platform is equipped with a hydraulic platform capable of launching and recovering a tender up to 3.6 meters in length, while the automated gangway ensures easy access to the water and the quay.

Another feature of this boat is the bow area which has been equipped to create an additional convertible area for all purposes for guests both at anchor and on the move thanks to the presence of a seating area with a central table at automatic retractable that you can choose to stop it up to the height of the sofas and through the filling cushions to create a comfortable and large sunbathing area or alternatively transform it with the table completely raised in the center into an aperitif area.

The layout of the boat includes 3 cabins, namely a VIP, a double and a master cabin in this model located at the stern, which can accommodate up to six guests.

The full-beam master stateroom boasts an en-suite bathroom made of glass that is electrically regulated, to be completely transparent or opaque when in use, another innovation for a yacht under 70 feet (21m). Furthermore, the cabin is furnished with a large assortment of wardrobes and glove boxes with side windows that allow for an unobstructed view of the outside, all features that make the cabin unique in its category. Nonetheless it is the other two cabins which follow the same design features as the owner’s cabin with the VIP cabin to port and the twin to starboard both featuring en-suite bathrooms and large windows, to be flooded with natural light.

The crew area has been designed with the utmost attention and care with access for the crew from both the main and lower decks, without having to pass through the guest spaces.

Light is the characteristic  of this yacht  the glass surfaces  create panoramic  environments with  bright and protected designs in any climatic condition that enhance  the extraordinary  outdoor spaces  all with the utmost elegance, where you can admire breathtaking  views whether you are in the external or internal spaces.

In this regard Luca Bassani, founder and chief designer of Wally, highlights some of the distinctive features of the new boat’s design.

“The look of the yacht comes 100% from its function. It differs from other market offerings by strengthening the relationship between functionality and performance. The enclosed cockpit is pushed far forward to provide indoor/outdoor living space which gives the Wallywhy100 an eye catching, elegant, yet aggressive appearance. This is further emphasized by a large and inviting beach area close to the water and a high and imposing slightly inverted bow which guarantees dry and safe sailing in all weather conditions. She further explains: “Thanks to her innovative design, the Wallywhy100 is an ‘all-rounder’. She is a spectacular day or weekend boat for those who want to use her as a tender for their larger yacht, but at the same time, her spacious cabins, the generous crew quarters and lounging areas, as well as the garage and toy storage capacity make it the perfect holiday home away from the mainland. The Wallywhy100 is a boat for owners who understand their needs and are not afraid to break the mold”.

The Wallywhy100 will be powered by twin D13 Volvo IPS engines, offering a cruising speed of 24 knots and top speeds of over 27 knots in the updated IPS1350 specification. The Volvo Penta D13-IPS has been specially designed to power the largest semi-displacement yachts and offer powerful performance, excellent handling, unmatched onboard comfort and increased range with lower fuel consumption and emissions. The perfectly matched engine and transmission, featuring two counter-rotating propellers, create an experience like no other on the water. The robust engine was built to last with a rigid cast iron cylinder block and head, offering long-term reliability and durability.

The lightness, the large external spaces, the luminosity of all the internal environments, the clean lines of the shapes and volumes supported by the performance both in terms of speed and sea keeping make the Wallywhy100 exclusive at the top of the yachts under 70 feet (21 m ).
