Vismara Marine’s Momi 80 wins the Design Innovation Award 2021 at the 61st Genoa Boat Show.

Vismara Marine Concept Srl’s Momi 80 sailboat wins the second edition of the Design Innovation Award 2021 for the category of sailing boats over 10 meters at the 61st Genoa Boat Show on the day dedicated to innovation and design.

The award established by Confindustria Nautica and I Saloni Nautici in 2020, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Nautical sector, intends to promote the excellence of production in the nautical sector, which stands out for research, innovation, formal and technical quality, sustainability.

An important recognition for a shipyard, founded in 1984 by the naval architect Alessandro Vismara, who has always invested and believed in research and technology.

This boat represents the synthesis of all the advantageous developments and positive experiences accumulated by the shipyard in 37 years of activity, designed according to the latest aesthetic trend and built with the most advanced and reliable technologies of recent years starting from the techniques of processing composites, because the boat is built entirely of carbon including mast and boom, with the deck characterized by a minimalist aesthetic covered in classic teak.

All the maneuvering devices are hidden and converge at the stern near the two twin wheels of the wheelhouse.

The sailboat is 80 feet (26.20m) long and 19 feet (5.80m) wide is equipped with a retractable keel, with a minimum draft of 2.50m (8 feet) to enter almost any port in the world and maximum of 4 m (13 feet) for safe navigation in the open sea. The total sail area is 280 square meters.

The boat is managed by a double wheelhouse and six winches, 4 electric installed aft of the wheelhouse and 2 mast-based and with a coffee grinder for regattas. To go below deck there are two entrances, a large central one, and the second smaller one aft of the cockpit for the crew.

As soon as we get off the central entrance, we find ourselves in front of a large salon  with a double L-shaped sofa along the sides with a double table and a small wardrobe for the oilcloths. Further towards the bow, along the corridor, we find on the left a cabin with a bunk bed with wardrobe, and on the right another cabin with a double bed with its own bathroom with shower and wardrobe.

Continuing a large master cabin with large wardrobe, personal sofa and, at the far bow, bathroom with shower.

Going down from the smaller aft entrance to the left of the entrance staircase, we find the kitchen with tilting gas burners, oven, dishwasher and a large fridge. Next to the kitchen, there is a small service bathroom and immediately after, at the far stern, another cabin with a bunk bed.

On the opposite side, a cabin with double bed and private bathroom with shower, and a utility room / laundry room with washer-dryer. Behind the entrance staircase is the engine room, where the easily accessible electric motor and generator are installed. The transom ends with a large electric opening hatch which has the function of transforming itself into a large swimming platform and when it is pulled down a long stowage space is accessible, where you can store many things such as a tender of 3 meters in length maximum.

For the interiors, among other things, very bright and airy thanks to the numerous hatches on the deck and the two elongated side windows on the deckhouse, we wanted to create a welcoming and familiar atmosphere using oak wood and white painted bulkheads all made with perfectionism and scrupulousness to satisfy the most demanding customers who appreciate the quality of the details.

A sailboat created to meet the needs of new generation owners who increasingly ask for a very fast boat to have fun competing in sailing competitions and at the same time enjoy comfortable cruises.
